Sure, you could say that Chelsea took advantage of her status and a current event to produce this book. But that in no way diminishes the end result. It was beautifully illustrated, and the choices of the people to include shows that thought was put into it. Each story was so brief but well written that it really sparked a desire to research more about the person’s life. That probably was not easy, and earns this book much admiration. I hope it really inspires many young women to stand up and be all want to be.
I like the idea of the book. And some of the choices are surprising, which is nice. But the writing takes away from the idea. And there's no afterword to rescue it. Not a bad book, just not as good as the idea itself.
This was a good short children's picture book. There were mostly fairly obvious choices and a couple inspired ones. The text was good as well as the art. But I wanted just a little bit more. More details and depth on each of the women profiled. Or at least an afterword. This was good, I was hoping for great.
This book is nicely presented and has such lovely illustrations. A great book to introduce these women to young readers.
this book was obviously dashed off in about two weeks, but i've been on a kick of reading all the young hopeful girl-powered things, sooooo i'm not even mad.

Excellent. My daughters and I loved this sampling not only of the lives of women who are famous (or should be more famous!) but the stories of persistence and overcoming obstacles. Inspiring!
