I loved the idea of this book, but the biographical information barely scratches the surface of the lives of these amazing women. It would have been better to offer a bit more information about fewer people for it to be a substantive add to the LMC collection. I did appreciate the diverse representation, but I would recommend this only as a way to encourage kids to learn more about these wonderful women.

I got this book signed for Barnes & Noble's Black Friday. It's super cute and a great way to show young girls they can do anything they want to.

A great book for young children, however sometimes the idea of persisting can make you feel bad when things get too hard to push through. Like, what about all the women in American history who just did what they could to survive and didn’t break world records? Why don’t we also talk to children about *why* women have had to persist so damn much? The book kinda addresses this but it could be nice to have some sort of companion book about all the laws and all the men who have forced women to persist or simply survive, you know what I mean? Like to point the finger at the perpetrators of oppression. I’m rambling - this is a great book lol!

A book I want to give to my young niece and any other future children that may wander into my life. Wonderful.

4.5/5: My favorite quote is:

"Young girls need to see role models in whatever careers they may choose, just so they can picture themselves doing those jobs someday. You can't be what you can't see."
--Sally Ride

Great book for your tiny feminist! Features 13 American women who made waves in the world and didn’t give up on their dreams. Love the inclusion of multiple races. Wonderful story full of positive role models to help your little one believe that they can be anything and make a change in the world.

This is a great picture book to teach young children the power of persistence and following your dreams and what you know to be right. While also giving history lessons about various important women, this serves to inspire and show that women have made a difference to our country. This book has beautiful illustrations–I love the colors that are used, and it is easy to read.

This could be a great book to spark conversation about what kids want to accomplish in their own lives, and it could be a great jumping-off point for studying important people in history.

I just stood in the middle of an aisle in Target and almost started crying because I loved this so much.
