My favorite of the series. Perfect example of magical realism and a great story of love, family, history, and fate.
I absolutely love living in this world. Alice Hoffman’s prose is so beautiful and dreamy it’s almost like reading poetry. I really loved Practical Magic and was so happy to find out that she’s written 2 prequels.

This one was on my tbr shelf for forever and I'm glad I finally picked it up. Really enjoyed it

Ugh! Can’t get into this. The lives of women are just too depressing sometimes. The knowledge they gained from nature is construed against them. Yeah, I get that some start thinking that they are magical and are really witches, but I wonder- who started that?? Women, to try to get some type of power? Or men, to give them another reason to blame and kill women????
Besides the topic (and I am not against reading about magic at all), the writing is SOOO repetitive.

This book was fine. I found the story telling a bit one dimensional and the world building was a little lacking. This is my first book I have read by Alice Hoffman, not sure if this is just how she approaches her writing or if it is this book in particular. It’s very girl power centered and talks about the morality of magic. It’s not bad, I’m interested to see how the rest of the story goes.
