It's probably because I went into this expecting more so understandably, it was a bit of a let down. Of course, I can't expect a good amount of tension from a book that talks about sex and women and everything that entails, but I felt like it could have done better. Regardless, I enjoyed reading about the lives of the women featured in this book, and although I do not understand most things they did, I can see myself coming to understand their reasonings.

Fascinating, but each narrative felt like it dragged on. Some passages and themes felt repetitive.

If this is meant to be a comprehensive examination of women's desires and sexuality, frankly, I am disappointed. To me, this book is really more about how men are awful and how the patriarchy shapes women's "desires" to largely revolve around pleasing men. If the intention was to explore women's sexuality, it would have been great to examine that in all its diversity (cultural/queerness etc) because this book just reads as a sad indictment of white heterosexuality.

This book made me want to throw up, but also made me think about exactly 0 things differently. Waste of time.
