Read this as sort of an introduction to Alexandre Dumas, hoping to continue onto The Count of Monte Cristo, a much larger work and the name of my favorite sandwich. However, I was largely put off by Dumas writing style and the book only started getting interesting in the last few pages.
On the contrary, hearing about Corsica, feuding, and dueling was fun.

Incroyable !!

I listened to the litaudio version read by Juliette. It was a very intriguing book, with identical twins, visits from the dead who do not lie, and above all, The Vendetta. Very interesting as a story and also to see the customs of the Coriscans. And the last line of the story! Incredible!!

and La guerre entre deux familles durant 4 siecles !

End of chapter 12 -excellent suspense, as always, with Mr. Dumas, pere.

(still not sure why the edition I am updating is not the one that GR shows me to review...)

Incredibly short, especially for Dumas. Interesting plot but it would have been better as a slow, rising revenge along the lines of monte cristo

Great Story! Read this after the Black Tulip and enjoyed this much more. I really felt for the brothers and Dumas' writing was compelling and interesting. I much prefer his work in this style of narration.

Although Dumas' "The Corsican Brothers " delivers exciting moments and delicate prose, its utter predictability makes for an underwhelming story.
