I think this book is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Truly held my attention throughout the whole book. The ending blew me away! It was a MAJOR twist that I definitely didn’t see coming!!!

Gagged when you learn the truth. The begining of the book lacks action imo but I really enjoyed the book overall, especially the ending
When thinking of what to write: "that was good. I liked that. Would i recommend it? Mayhaps. Would i read it again? No." But that says nothing of the book as I really don't reread books, or rewatch movies. One and done, impress me. When the first twist happened I was like "oh. Okay. I can see that." But the ending did end up giving me a good conclusion, and those are hard for thrillers in my taste.
Didn't get bored much, the book has good momentum. Overall, enjoyed it, it made me want to read more thrillers as I've not read many.

This book had me gagged!! Started off strong but slowed down in the middle where the plot started to take shape. The plot twist at the end had me on my flight in shock because I didn't guess that twist. Overall a fun quick read!

I am really struggling to pin my thoughts down with this book.
On the one hand I absolutely raced through it, I was hooked from page one and read it within 24 hours.
The mystery and thriller elements worked for me, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout. A mystery thriller with all the required elements: red herrings, every character is suspicious and many clues. Though I am slightly disappointed that by the end most of the really suspicious characters were just dropped, felt slightly unfinished!
However, that twist. How did I not see that coming?! I do think the twist was very well executed and developed throughout the story. My jaw literally dropped, I felt like Michaelides pulled the rug violently from beneath my feet. I think I loved it!
The twists and turns of the whole story led me somewhere I was totally not expecting, though maybe I should have been!
The characters are very complex, with a delightfully unreliable edge.
Though I feel there were some plot holes and inconsistencies, overall, I couldn't put this book down and I won't forget that twist anytime soon.
