Amusing, adorable, and yet very real. The narrator reminds me of Scout Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird, but is more self-aware and scientific, which makes for some hilarious moments. Definitely one of the better new books I've read this year.

Lighthearted read addressing heavier topics. Really enjoyed this one as well as Unlikely Animals. Loved the characters in this book. Interesting storyline.

A quick read that's a surprisingly light and comic take on a mother's death and the bizarre ways that her family deals with the tragedy. Very original storyline. Adored Elvis as a character. Would make a fun choice for book clubs.

The writing was great and the topic was heartfelt but what I loved most about this story were the quirky, flawed, beautiful characters.
