This is such a great retelling. I didn’t think I could love anyone more than Hades and Persephone from Neon Gods but Psyche and Eros are just as interesting from the very beginning pages. I loved that we are blessed with a curvy FMC that doesn’t belittle herself because of it. Psyche and Eros’ banter is also so swoon worthy, once I started reading this I couldn’t put it down.

I loved Neon Gods and this was such a great second book for the Dark Olympus series. I think that Psyche is a really compelling FMC and Eros is the kind of gritty morally gray character making them a dynamic pair that’s all too easy to root for. I continue to be impressed by KR’s ability to convince me of the stakes and keep me hooked for the whole book. I was glued to this for the first 30 chapters! I think that this novel suffered from a bit too much of an edit on the tail end, as the climax comes in the last 20 pages and the wrap up feels very rushed. I mostly just never wanted this to end!

Still absolutely blown away. I've read all books of the series that are out so far, and it's my favorite. Can't recommend enough, I would give it more stars if that was possible.

I was really blown away by this book. The tropes are familiar, but to have a plus sized main character is honestly a breath of fresh air after reading a bunch of other (also pretty hot) dark fantasy books. I hadn't realized how much I missed this. The smut is delightful and delicious, and it's the first time I instantly re-read some of the chapters, just to enjoy the scenes a little longer.

Definitely a recommendation from me for anyone who likes casually queer characters (honestly, this alone would keep me reading Katee Robert's work), the comfort of familiar tropes, etc.

Familiar tropes are... enemies to lovers, forced marriage, fake relationship, shared bed... I also really love how you get this story within the larger Dark Olympus universe, eg with lots of foreshadowing of later books, etc. Also contains some hints at the Wicked Villains series
