I picked up this book at Barnes and Nobles after reading the first book in the series, “Neon Gods”. I fell in love with the first book and knew I had to read this one. I loved the plot & characters of this book, even more so than the first. The main protagonist, Pysche, I adored. I loved the fact she was a plus size woman too. Overall, my new favorite book and series.

I‘m a sucker for the fake marriage trope. So of course I rated this 5 stars. 💅🏻 I also loved, loved, loved Eros and Psyche. I don’t know what it is about Katee‘s men, but I love that they all realize pretty fast on in the story that they are utterly in love with their partner. And they never fight those feeling. Yes, obviously there was doubt in Eros that he doesn’t deserve Psyche because he sees himself as a monster, but it was soo good nevertheless! Honestly, can’t wait for the third one and even the political shenanigans in this world are intriguing!

Wholly different from Neon Gods with some linguistic similarities but no less enjoyable. I have a strong pull toward Hades and Persephone for some unknown reason but I really liked this Psyche and Eros retelling. Psyche is stunning in this novel and made me want to be her. The spice was less shocking than the first novel but no less entertaining.

Psyche and Eros' story had quite a few redeeming qualities and A LOT of smut mixed with regretful and insecure emotions. I did find that relating to said insecurities was easy to do and although there was a whopping fifty something pages of a bedroom scene, I did enjoy this book. It was a little predictable,  but it's a good read for a small escape.

I loved them together. I felt more connected to them as characters. I related a lot to Psyche and her internal struggles. I thought it was nice that societal standard of beauty were touched on throughout the book. I do wish they we could have seen more about how she keeps her feelings in check about being bullied for her size.

The smut was great. It wasn’t as kinky as Neon Gods but I felt more connected to the characters so I liked their scenes together wayyyy more.

This book exceeded my expectations. It was more emotional than Neon God's but I loved it. There was certainly more plot than I expected but it was really for adding to the emotional aspect. I personally loved Eros and Psyche, but even more so as a couple. And I loved the 2 main tropes (I was sent here to kil  you but fell in love instead + marriange of convience) and it makes me want to search out more books with those in it. Definitely will continue with the series!
