Interesting idea that consent culture puts too much pressure on women. A little repetitive at times.

Katherine Angel is an angel. She masterfully put into words some very complex feelings that I’d been having but was unable to articulate with wonderfully well researched examples to back up everything she was saying. It’s a truly insightful and disappointingly unique perspective on approaching sex as well as the lines between assault and why god awful sex can also be psychologically damaging. And it doesn’t just leave it there! The book actively suggests ideas on how we can avoid this damage which I think is something that more men need to know about and take accountability for. The only thing I would say is that this could have done with one final stage of editing just to clear up some of the sentence structure. Additionally, I occasionally felt like I was getting lost in the sauce with some of the detailed examples given. However, these really do help to humanise a lot of the points and put them into a proper context which is much approached. Overall, I will be recommending this book to everyone!

good and short introduction on how sex is socialized in the modern world. i think this could have been longer, but it is a good starting point for everyone interested in the topic.
