I definitely would’ve DNF’ed if I wasn’t it reading for a readathon. I can see why people like this, but it is absolutely not for me and the exact opposite of what I’m looking for.

This was my first Stephen King novel and will be my last. He uses the word “cunt” in a really obnoxious way and he seems to be darkly fascinated by children and sexuality and exploiting them in that way. Making up horrific stories and scenarios and describing them in the most dense, pointless way. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
The twist at the end was laughable and had nothing to do with the story prior the last 40 pages. Terrible.

Truly don't know what to say about this one except it was the most nauseous a book has ever made me feel so well done Steve. Devoured it in 3 days. Horrible content yet some beautiful moments of writing and gutwrenching honesty about the nastiest parts of humanity. Not only does it refuse to tastefully fade to black, the novel itself argues against the fade to black; the necessity to look at the thing head on instead. The ending twist was silly though, an editor needed to fight to cut that.
