- this has quickly become one of my favorite witchy romances! It hits a lot of the tropes/themes that I love to see, but I loved the way it still felt fresh!
- this has some top tier found family, and mixing that with the way Declan was trying to make them his pack/his nesting was so fun to see!
- the way that Declan and Lou have to navigate their relationship with the bond was so well done!
- the spice was v good ðŸ‘€
- the conflict kept the pacing going throughout, and I definitely am curious about where that goes in book two!
- Lovedddd all the animal sidekicks! I thought the phoenix would be my favorite, but then there were the ferrets! And the pigeons came out of nowhere to really take the cake!
- the book has some more intense themes, and I thought that McBride does an incredible job of cutting the tension with humor while also not trivializing any of the more serious topics.

This was so cute and cozy, but also exciting and funny. Lots of good rep, and it also handled a lot of difficult topics very gracefully.

This was such a fun read! I had no expectations going in because I'd never heard of this series or the author before, but I had a blast! There are great found-family vibes in here, and the magic was a fun addition to the romance. I liked Lou and Declan a lot, felt they had really good chemistry. Once it gets going, their relationship goes from 0 to 60 real quick, but it felt earned/didn't really bother me personally. I just love witch-meets-werewolf romcoms, sue me!

If you're in the mood for a feel-good paranormal romcom with some relatively high-pressure stakes re: old demons resurfacing, I'd highly recommend it. Already placed a hold on book 2 because I just wanna stay near this merry group of misfits.

I especially recommend listening to the audiobook, as it is duet-narrated, even within the other POV's chapters. Such an immersive experience!

Unique!

I read so much witchy romance that sometimes it's hard to parse one from another but this one was truly unique!

I loved every bit of it
