Lol, I can feel Kou's frustration. When he's about to choose for himself (or choose Futaba for that fact), his cellphone will blow up with Narumi's ringtone as if a wake-up call for him. That's seriously depressing, man. Kou believes he has to ask for permission to be happy, and the universe will give him this answer? I'd be depressed if I were him too. But finally, he's finally being honest to himself and decided to come clean to Narumi so he can finally confess to Futaba. And unfortunately, Futaba decided to move forward. There isn't any worst timing than theirs! Just when Futaba already leaving Sakaku Clock Tower, Kou's deciding to come to her. When will they meet each other?! (I'm just being dramatic lol, I know they'll get there. I just like to brood on these things. But hell, this is srsly frustrating!)
By the way, the filler chapter was cute!

Ok so here’s the thing. I love Toma so much. I love how direct he is with his feelings and how comfortable he is in being vulnerable with his friends and Futaba. That said, I know that Futaba will never return his feelings and that’s ok too, but I am glad they’re showing that getting over someone is a process, I just wish she wouldn’t feel the need to change herself into someone more feminine to be desirable or strictly to make someone jealous. But I also get that it’s realistic, especially for high school.

If the characters had the conversations where they explain how they feel to each other instead of to their friends there would be a lot less 'Futaba runs off'. It wouldn't even necessarily mean that they'd get together! Things are still complicated, but omg their utter lack of communication skills being the thing that keeps being a conflict is tiresome. My kingdom for a better plot device.
Bless Toma being out there just trying his best and confessing with his whole heart. I'm hoping his friend and Yuri get together.
Futaba's "I'm going to be more FEMININE to make Kou jealous!' is so awful. Feminism leaving my body reading about this 17yr-old who weighs like 105lbs *dieting* so she drops 3lbs, wearing makeup, and trying to be quieter because she thinks that's feminine? The kids are not all right. The aggressive sexism going on here. Oof.

I was on the bus reading this and I had to bite down on my lip so as to not squeal in happiness. Seriously, it so damn cute. I haven't stopped smiling since I started this manga. My cheekbones hurt.
