OMG! No way!!!
I'm about to kill Kou!!! By the way. I LOVED Futaba attitude, not letting herself go down because she was rejected. If every girl were like that...

I keep flip flopping between finding Futaba really annoying and seeing a lot of myself in her. The one thing that stood out to me this volume was Kou stewing over Kominato's advice and realizing that he was avoiding thinking about his mother for so long that he started feeling guilty that he thought about her less. He is also using Narumi as a way to continue grieving for his mom. I think that was a really fascinating aspect and I'm glad Io Sakisaka is exploring that. It's rough that Kou is coming to this realization right when Futaba is trying really hard to move on. Their little moment when they are both in the infirmary and Futaba doesn't really fuss over him, making him happy and realizing that he isn't the center of the world was really good.

Kou and Futaba's miscommunication sucks because they both feel like they are being jerked around by each other. I'm interested in seeing Yuri and Uchimiya potentially getting feelings for each other and dating. I also feel bad for Toma because I know he truly has no shot with Futaba and this will all end with him getting rejected. I also think the bonus story of the girl having her first ever crush as a teenager was cute.

emotional tense fast-paced

Kou finally takes Kinamoto's advice and comes to his senses, but it might be too late. I don't really like a plot where romance is always about timing, but I'm hoping everything will work out.
