GAHHH WTF. Okay, so I cried within the first twenty pages when Auren's ribbons grew back. My theory is that once she reunites with Slade, they'll come 'alive' again, and he'll regain his ability to open rips. BECAUSE THEY BELONG TOGETHER *SOBS* I've never been a fan of the whole 'bonded mates' trope, but I love Slade and Auren so much that I don't even care.

I cried during like every single Osrik chapter. I love to see big, tough men weak for their loved ones. The flower shop scene had me SOOOO SAD. And honestly, I'm not even mad at the convenient magic little girls who showed up to save the day. I also just wanted Rissa to wake up. (Plus, they healed Argo, and honestly, I'd forgotten about him, which is a crime because I was DEVASTATED when I thought he'd died.)

Rip's chapters kind of feel all over the place, tbh. I read a review where someone said they seemed like they were out of order, and I agree. Something about the beginning portion of them felt lacking. I do love that he went on a revenge spree just to save a horse Auren mentioned she liked one time.

I missed Lu. She didn't get nearly enough page time.

I loved Malina's whole character arc tbh. I didn't so much love the relationship between her and the shadow assassin. I was chill with the whole slow burn mutual respect thing and then maybe eventually they fell in love but it just felt so out of nowhere for them to suddenly be all devoted to each other and boning in the street while a faerie army marched on her kingdom while she spent all that time trying to save it. thought it was WIIIILD that Kaila just dipped like that.

Annwyn was kinda disappointing. I really was expecting it to be like hardcore magical faerie vibes and I just didn't get that at all. I thought Brunner's power was cool af. (also fuck him) The Wick reveal was also wild. I thought it was cool how everything tied together in the end with the missing Drollard villagers and the Oreans Auren went to rescue but also....

THAT ENDING WTFFFFF. I need book 6 right now, please. Please Raven. I need to know wtf is gonna happen.

THIS WAS GREAT. i actually flew by this book soooo much quicker than any other books in the series so far. Auren is finally not a helpless little thing and Malina gets a redemption arc too?? love to see it

DID NOT FINISH: 93%

I tried to continue this but there was no plot at all. It was so disappointing and boring. I really wanted to finish this series because i saw potential and I was like i will try, but I really can’t take this torture anymore

Omg idk if I like that ending. I'm scared. I'm SO scared. 😱 I'm just soothing myself that there's only one book left so nothing too bad is going to happen... right? RIGHT?! 😭

Also wtf Raven Kennedy wrote this book during postpartum with a baby HOW??? Babe, you're crazy but I love you πŸ’•

While I really love the expansion of the world in this book, one thing I could be happier without was the overabundance of Queen Malina. The romance was kinda cute but the spice felt so misplaced because hello, TPO? 🀑 Not sure how I feel about her redemption either πŸ€”

All that aside, that was another banger for the series and I can't wait for the finale! πŸ”₯
