while i wasn’t the most invested in the memoir aspect of this book (it wasn’t bad in the slightest, i’m just a girl on a mission and i want the writing advice more than anything) i don’t think there was a part of this book i thought was unnecessary. i didn’t agree with all of his advice, but i think all of it has value and is worth contemplating

This book was extremely informative and inspiring. It gave me the feeling I can write a novel, something I've always thought to be out of my league, and a general inspiration to go back to writing.
I'd recommend it to all aspiring writers, I didn't agree with all the points but it's a clear and concise in its directions, which leaves them open to reinterpretation.
The memoir sections were entertaining and moving, only the graphic descriptions of his injuries after the accident proved a bit too much for me.
I will very likely read it again when I feel like I need encouragement.

It took me quite a while to get into this book because I was not really a fan of the slow paced, memoir bits at first. They grew on me though and started to pay off towards the middle and end of the book. Really solid read for anyone interested in the creative/writing process and the role it plays in life.
