To each their own but I don't like unprotected sex scenes after the first "I love you" is said 300 pages into the book after the first big fight over miscommunication, or TWO sexual trauma scenes without a trigger warning in the prelude. Garrett was good at the beginning but I had a hard time liking Jennie throughout. She's getting all these guys attentions and then using it to make Garrett jealous, and the whole Krissy situation I could've done without. Cara and Ollie I was bigger fans of. I also don't understand how Jennie got to do / afford anything financially, because everyone was buying everything major for her. May have been just my copy but there were many typos throughout the book, and this easily could've been 200 pages less. Everything was predictable, I skimmed the last 100 pages after said unprotected intimate scene, and there would be "plot twists" only for the incident to not be a big deal. Garrett's dad leaving the house with a bottle of whiskey as a recovering alcoholic?? He didn't take a sip. Jennie gets in a car crash? It's fixed in the weirdest way possible with no one hurt or cost to her. Can't tell Carter about the relationship cause he'll flip? Resolved quite easily. I enjoyed the callbacks to the ref during the hockey games, and Adam's commentary in general. Otherwise, this book was repetitive and not a happy ending in my eyes. Also, as someone who gets the compliment a lot, I think it's toxic af to call someone your sunshine and be dependent on them as your source of joy or happiness so when that sunflower necklace was given I was done.

God where do I start? First I thought I would enjoy this book bc of the good reviews on this app but boy where they wrong. I almost dnef this book bc of the cringey charachters/conversations. 60% in the book I was like okay this is not that bad, but still. I didn't had a problem with the FL nor the ML (only that the personalities switched up midbook what confused me) i have a problem with the side charachters. I would like to throw Carter from this planet. He just a child, like act you age ! Loved the plot, only cared for princess bubblegum but the story on how she got lost it was just boring. Like give me drama :) This book could be 200 pages shorter in my opinion bc there was a lot of repetition ....

"But here's the thing, Jennie. You don't  have to be strong and confident all the time. You're allowed to have insecruities, to be afraid, to feel lonely. Those things don't make you weak; they make you human

I have a serious love/hate relationship with this book. It starts off strong. Garrett has the hots for Carter (his teammate's) little sister Jennie. He's trying so hard to suppress them until Jennie realizes she has the hots for him too. They start secretly messing around (very descriptive) and in the process they become best friends.

First of all, it was way too long. AGAIN! I don't see the point of having 20 different sex scenes. I love the descriptions and I love how "alpha male" Gare is and how Jennie asks for what she wants and needs. But I don't need 300 pages of it.

Secondly, Garrett is..... intersting. I feel like BM couldn't decide if she wanted him to be shy and goofy or demanding and grumpy so she made him both. It was a little bit of a turn off for me. Give me cute, shy, and goofy or give me alpha-male, confident and grumpy. Can't do with the back and forth.

Jennie = LOVED. I thought BM did a great job portraying Jennie ask a badass but it was nice to see some of her insecurities come through. She is so much like Carter is was sooo soo good.

The best part.... Carter & Olivia. Seeing how they manage pregnancy and how Carter is so attentive to Liv's wants was something unexpected but amazing.

CW: alcohol/alcoholism, bullying, car accident, curing, death of a parent, emotional abuse, eating disorder, grief, sexual content, panic attacks, toxic friendship, sexual harassment
