I don't know why I keep giving the "brother's best friend" trope chances. It has never, ever worked for me, not when they're older than her, and not when they're younger.
I will say, however, that the regression was interesting. But when most of your story has the mc actively becoming a WORSE person, you have to do a LOT of work to redeem them by the end. And while I can see the potential here, I don't think it had enough space to happen. and also most of the comeuppance felt very liberal white-savior core.

A really enjoyable story, focusing on Sadie and her chance to redo a whole year of her life. Really enjoyed the mix of it being Sadie’s story, but having romance and self-reflection throughout!

I liked it for the most part.
There were a few things that ultimately led to a lower rating than I expected to give going into this.
The writing was fine, but there were a few repetitive things in there that took me out of the story each time it happened (ex., something would be mentioned in Ch3, and then the same thing almost word for word would be mentioned again in Ch7, etc.). I think those things should've been edited out for a better experience.
I liked the "heroes" of the story and hated the "villains" of the story, so the author did a good job of invoking the right emotions in me. I do have to say I grew annoyed with the FMC at several points in the story, but I think that was intentional on the author's side.
Ultimately the message of the story was to stay true to yourself, and a secondary message was to stand up in the face of injustice and not remain silent. Those are messages I can approve of, and I think the author managed to convey them well.
The romance took somewhat of a backseat, but not to the point where it would put this book in the women's fiction category for me. It was the right balance of having the FMC front and central while still having a rom-com vibe.
Speaking of rom-com, I can picture a movie version of this, and I think with the right cast, this could work well. Given the lack of good romcom movies in recent years, perhaps someone can make this happen.
The Content Warning at the start was very welcome.

For people who want a food metaphor every three paragraphs.
Also I thought this was supposed to be a romance??? Maybe I was wrong about that cuz it’s definitely not.

It was predictable but a much needed palette cleanser. You can guess that'll happen before the story really starts with how much foreshadowing the author drips in.
