i was so excited when I saw this in Barnes bc I didn’t realize it existed but I could’ve done without this pov. i’m just gonna pretend I didn’t read it bc it kinda made me not like four as much as I remembered liking him when I first read the series :(

Very easy read, but as promising as it was to be a way to continue the series, it really didn't offer anything new or exciting for me to stand behind and get into again. Altogether it was just pointless.

This brought me back to the days when Four was awesome and not some whiny oh-no-im-not-divergent character (oops, spoiler). You can't really fault this but to me, some of the Four-Tris scenes seemed forced. (MIGHT BE JUST ME).

I don't know . . . I enjoyed it.

It was a nice read and to look into the life of Four before he met Tris was quite interesting.

Spoiler This whole ordeal with his mother being alive and him knowing before all this is kind of confusing since the storyline of him finding out his mother was alive was also occurring in Insurgent..

Whatever, I'm not going to be picky about that. It's nice if you're a hardcore Divergent fan who can't get enough of Four and Tris but I, quite frankly, am just so over this story...sorry.

My love for the Divergent trilogy is partially understandable by reading this book. The character of Four immediately impressed me as good-looking, strong and witty and as Tris falled for him in the first book, I did too. I'm still convinced that he his one of the best male character that I've read about in a YA book. Even more so after this book. In this short stories the Four that we meet is not the Four of Divergent, he's a kid struggling with identity and becoming a man, and his journey is simply amazing. If you loved him in the trilogy you will not be able not to love him again.

A nice little book that provides Four’s side of the story. It’s a must-read for fans of Divergent and it’s neat to see how the story might have turned out if Tobias was the protagonist. I was annoyed with how many times Tris was described as a “sMoL fRaGiLe bEaN”. Please, Veronica Roth, no.
