This book was so beautifully written, all about life, family and love. I would have given it 5 stars but I was left a bit confused about the 2079 sections - it did not seem to have a strong conclusion. The rest of the book though? Spot on. I couldn’t put it down.

This book's enveloping prose welcomed me into the Skinner family as though I was a fifth sibling -- simultaneously loving each character and despising their choices. I found myself yearning for a resolution, and was pleasantly surprised and sorely disappointed that it never came. This book tells of family, grief, and love in a way that is so close alive -- sweaty, stinky, and breathing.

This was a fabulous book about a family and the sibling relationships over generations. It is really well written and you fully enjoy and despair over the strength and frailty of the love between them.

Have you ever been to an art museum and seen a piece of art that you thoroughly appreciated but didn’t like? That’s how I felt about this novel. I had to give it 3 stars because it is beautifully written and yet it dragged in parts for me.

I did not like this at all. Too many issues for me.

I wanted this book to continue. Beautifully written, sad story.

I loved this. I found the characters incredibly rich and compelling. I couldn’t put it down. I think my only quibble was the futuristic frame narrative, which just felt weird and jarring. But otherwise, I simply loved this.

It was good. It just wasn’t great.
