This is my favorite book of the Bridgerton series (the 2nd epilogues and the prequels not counted). It‘s a rather sweet and heartfelt love story, only disturbed/hindered by outer forces and minor miscommunication. Gregory Bridgerton feels more sensitive and clearly engaging than other main characters/love interests we get to see through the series. He lacks that destinct anger that all of the other male main characters in the series appear to have. He is shaped by his environment and acts accordingly (aka his love is real approach). He just loves and adores Lucy and that makes for a very enjoyable reading experience.
There is only 1 sex scene in the book, and most of it is concerned with the phase in which Gregory is interested in Hermione, which for others might make the book seem more boring than others, but I liked it. The characters and their relationship seemed more sensible and fleshed out that way.
The „love effect“ thing only setting in after they had shared their first kiss was nice, because it felt less like „love at first sight“, which I personally don‘t really like.
The „hinderance-plot“ was very interesting and I really liked the last few chapters, which take place during the wedding reception.
