People may call me crazy for saying that I liked this book, but genuinely I did. Though the book is  traumatic and had EXTREMELY triggering events I couldn’t put it down. Some of the parts were really hard to read but I needed to find out if Addie was okay and if Zade would find her. I think that what makes this book so good is the constant tension of “what is going to happen next.” Constantly wondering what will happen. You grow very closely to Addie in the beginning of the book and really see her growth. She becomes a survivor. She is a survivor. She’s constantly fighting. And you want to fight for her too. Though the traumatic events she endures have negatively changed her life she learns how to push through life because she is a fighter. Also you get to see the a side of her develop that is very similar to Zade, as well as watch their relationship grow too.

This book was actually WAY darker than the original! The writing massively improved in my opinion in the second book and it's more plot heavy than the original. It's a super tense book, I found myself holding my breath during some moments.
