I've enjoyed these Colter Shaw books. He and his siblings were raised with an academic father who pulls his whole family into the wilderness to live off the grid. His father died unexpectedly when he was a teenager, and his brother disappeared shortly after.

Colter has an unusual skillset because of his unique background. He makes money by finding missing people who have rewards offered for them. In this book, he goes after a girl whose mom has offered a very small reward because he knows she won't have many people trying to help her.

In the meantime, he's still tracking down what happened to his dad based on clues his dad left him. Lots of action.

The Final Twist is the third instalment in the Colter Shaw series. We pick up from the last book and Colter is on the hunt for his father's killers. We find Colter in San Francisco trying to find out more about what his father knew and trying to find out more information about the corporation BlackBridge. His father believed that BlackBridge was responsible for the death of an employee who had found evidence of serious wrongdoing and managed to get it out and hide it but he was unfortunately murdered. And no one could find the evidence but Colter hopes to find this. The book has a secondary storyline as Colter takes on a job to find a missing person. What I like about Colter is he will try and help anyone find a missing person even if there is little to no money involved. In the previous two books Colter talks about his siblings Dora and Russell. Russell has been missing since their father's funeral and Colter has been searching for him unsuccessfully but maybe there's a family reunion on the cards.

I have enjoyed all three Colter Shaw books. Jeffery Deaver sure knows how to plot a book and keep you glued and wanting more. The door has been left open for more books and I really hope there is.

I would like to thank LoveReading and Harper Collins for a review copy.

Still fun but I think three is enough of these, several of the standard [a:Jeffery Deaver|1612|Jeffery Deaver|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1305944481p2/1612.jpg] twists and a nice resolution to the trilogy. Oh and this one has a neat McGuffin that reminded me of something like National Treasure.

In this new Colter Shaw thriller, Shaw is trying to find answers to his father's death. Using the clues his father left behind, Shaw is on the hunt for a bag with crucial evidence that can bring down espionage company BlackBridge, who Shaw believes is behind his father's murder. However, things take a turn for the worse when BlackBridge gets on his trail, and a kill order turns up to murder an entire family. And Shaw only has 48 hours to find and save the family. But before that, he has to find the evidence, and make sure he doesn't get killed.

First things first, I liked this book more than I thought I would. It has all the elements of a good thriller - plenty of plot twists, it's engaging, and pretty much unputdownable. While some parts are predictable, some twists took me by surprise. Deaver is highly skilled at misdirecting his readers. You'd think you know better, but before you realise it, you'd have taken the plunge.

While I have read and loved Deaver before-I had a whole Jeffery Deaver phase once with the Lincoln Rhyme series- this is my first Colter Shaw thriller (this is the third one in the series and I am not too sure if I should have read the first two beforehand). And I have not really been able to make up my mind about Shaw, a professional reward-seeker. Do I like him? Probably. With the insane set of skills he has, do I find him a bit unrealistic? Probably.

While I enjoyed the book, I wish it had a stronger plot. And, I am not too sure how many of the things that happened in the book are realistic.

All in all, The Final Thriller is an enjoyable read. You'd probably like this if you are into books that are action-packed and come with many cliffhangers (almost every chapter ended with a cliffhanger).
