Nicki Bennett tells a sexy and sensual history of actor Mac Kerr and spa owner Evan York in the novella Evan’s Heaven. Their entire relationship is mapped out based on key moments in their shared history; it’s all a series of events strung together by a thoughtful gift basket sent to Mac by Evan for their anniversary since Mac is on location while Evan is back at home at his spa.

There’s a lot of kink mixed in with the sex and both partners top and bottom which is always fun to see since switching isn’t nearly common enough in gay romance. They engage in puppy play, spanking, cross-dressing, and a host of other fun exploits. I really enjoyed getting to reminisce with Mac as he relived his year of loving Evan.

I’d recommend this piece for someone who wanted a hot, fast read with a great relationship showcased up-front-and-center. The characterization was fantastic and solid. I only wish there’d been more shown of their relationship outside of their erotic encounters. It still gets a solid four stars from me, all of which I feel are very rightly deserved.

I like how the story was told in flashbacks. And each flashback stemmed from a gift. The ending was sweet!
