3.5 stars. This is very faithful to the tv show; in fact, too faithful. I would have liked a little deviation, even if it were just more of a look inside the characters' heads. As it was, I felt like I knew every word in the book. I did enjoy the art, and some of the covers at the back of the volume were gorgeous.

Loved this so much!!  It was just like watching the show.  John and Sherlock have the best friendship.

This is a graphic novel adaption of the script from the tv-series and corresponding episode "A Study in Pink". It doesn't add or subtract from the original plot at all, I think it might actually follow the tv script to the dot (except for the comments about the skull maybe?). That does mean that reading the novel is merely like watching the tv-episode once again. Even so, I enjoyed seeing the show in a new format. The emotional expressions so characteristic of manga suit the story well and add an extra level of humour. The novel is well drawn and captures the actors in the tv-series.

It just the first episode of BBC Sherlock but drawn/reformatted frame by frame. Which when I don't think about that fact, makes it enjoyable. But when I do think about it, it makes the volume annoying. Like yea, go and get your very obvious cash grab BBC. Granted, it does make me a wee bit of a hypocrite as there are manga produced after the anime. There's even been manga made after video games. Guess I'm conflicted about it all.

Just awesome! I love Sherlock Holmes TV series very much and the manga artist was skillful. The looks of Benedict Cumberbatch and the essence of Sherlock Holmes were neatly captured! Every character was easily recognisable. I am almost sad that I have already seen the show and thus remember the plot :(
