This is my first book by his author and I will check out others as well. I enjoyed this book. I feel like the ending was rushed.
It would have been nice to see Cole and Natalie's relationship progress more before they got married. I would liked to have seen their wedding and more of them becoming parents.

Flashpoint in the beginning was a heart breaking book. Natalie has been through so much between losing her husband and father both to fire she already can't take it anymore. Then her mom is injured in a fire and she's done with fire, she wants nothing to do with it anymore. However, Cole has different ideas. He has been in love with her since before she met her husband, Evan, whom he was best friends with. Cole felt that he couldn't be with her because she was the wife of a fellow firefighter, until the day his friends and co-workers, told him to follow how he felt. Natalie and Cole together are like fire themselves, they burn, and are so good for one another. He balances her, while she pushes him to be more than what he feels he is. By the end of the book, he has made sure to give Natalie everything that she could possibly want, and he makes her exceedingly happy. I loved these two characters and their willingness to fight for one another. This was a great book, and I hope there are more books in this series. I will be lining up to read them! Highly recommend.

Overall I liked the book. There were a lot of major life events in such a short book which was a bit much, but overall it was a pretty good read.

Second reread. Natalie is the widow of Cole's bestfriend Evan, but he's been in love with her for as long as he's known her, and now that she is ready to start dating again he doesn't know what to do.
The firefighter's code of honor says you don't date some one else's wife, even if she's a widow, his friendship with her husband is another strike against him, but he just can't let her slip through his fingers again.
Natalie has PTSD where firefighters are concerned as her dad and husband both died on the job, but she's always been attracted to Cole and he's so sweet and he's been so helpful since Evan died and even before that their friendship was always deep.
The forbidden romance between these 2 amazing characters was incredibly sweet and poignant, Natalie does seem to consistently get handed the short end of the stick in life and Cole's never really seen any other end of it either, but they come together and support each other to help make each others dreams come true. Loved this!!

Yessss!

This is exactly what I needed to read, even if I didn’t know it. A little friends to lovers, a good dose of angst, but nothing overwhelming.
Just two people working their way through life to get to one another.
I loved the strength between them together as well as individually. Cole’s dedication. To Natalie. His friends. To his career.
And Natalie’s as well. To her mom. Cole. Her career.
I can’t think of anything about this that I didn’t enjoy, even for a minute.

Flashpoint is a hot romance between a firefighter and a girl he shouldn't want but can't resist!

Natalie lost her father and husband to fire so getting into it with another firefighter is something she is looking to avoid at all costs. Being best friends with her deceased husbands fellow firefighter, Cole means her life is always entangled with the life.

I know little to nothing about the life of a firefighter however this book had lots of good details where I feel like now I do. From the widow's standpoint to the survivors guilt to the long held traditions that get in the way of real life. Their relationship was a tricky one but this book caught and held my attention from start to finish. Looking forward to more from this firehouse and crew!

Wow! This book was sooo good!
I devoured it in one sitting. I haven‘t read a firefighter story in so long and I seriously loved it.

Flashpoint is the first book in Skye Jordan‘s new series about firefighters. This one is about Cole and Natalie who have been friends since forever. Natalie was married to Cole‘s best friend who tragically died on duty.

I really enjoyed this story. Natalie and Cole are just so lovely together and their story flows! Natalie is a strong heroine but her life get‘s turned upside down so hard in this book like one thing happens after the other and Cole is there for her throughout it all.

I‘m so pumped to read the coming books. The secondary characters in this book are so good and I can‘t wait to read their stories

Skye Jordan has kicked off the Forged in Fire series with an intense friends-to-lovers read. Flashpoint is the story of two people, connected by the loss of a loved one, that finally admit to the feelings they have for one another. Cole is the type hero I love to read. He's loyal to his friends and family - an all-around good guy. Natalie is a woman that has rebuilt her life and is ready to move on after the death of her husband. These two people have been friends for years, but it's time to either acknowledge what's happening between them, or let it go. When Natalie's life is once again affected by fire, Cole comes to the rescue. Natalie is understandably hesitant, but Cole is all-in. Their chemistry and emotional connection burn so brightly! I loved everything about this book, including the small dramas popping up around secondary characters, and cannot wait to read more about this brotherhood of firefighters!

Natalie has been through so much -- she lost her firefighter husband, Evan, two years ago and another fire has left her mother hurt and in the hospital while their business is destroyed. When Evan died, Cole lost his best friend and firefighter “brother”, and it pained him to see Natalie - the love of his life who was always “off limits” -- grieve while all he could do was stand by and watch. But now Natalie is trying to get her life back together and Cole is tired of standing by… He’s ready to be a part of Natalie’s life, to show her his heart has always been hers and he’s dedicated to putting her first and creating the family they both crave. But with her life so unsettled, Natalie isn’t sure she has the emotional capacity to figure out the deep set feelings and chemistry she has for Cole, especially if it means she could once again lose someone she loves. Both of them will need to put aside their fears if they want to hold onto love and have any chance at the family and HEA they’ve both dreamed of.

Thoughts: Prepare to have your heartstrings pulled taught, dear reader! The grief that Natalie and Cole feel over Evan’s loss is palpable, and Natalie has a well-earned case of PTSD after all she’s been through. There are some really heavy issues that could’ve been delved into a bit deeper -- Cole’s dad, for example -- and I could’ve used a smidge more closure for some of these issues. But that said, this truly is a wonderful love story! The dedication Cole shows to Natalie is so heart-stoppingly beautiful that it makes me feel bad for mere mortal men. I know my husband loves me more than anything in this world, but even he can’t hold a candle to Cole’s commitment to Natalie. It’ll leave readers breathless at times. And Natalie is no slouch, either -- she’s likable, hardworking, caring, and has been through so much that you can’t help but feel empathetic towards her tough situation. The girl needs a break! I know this is all fiction, but I felt better knowing she had Cole to support her. Their chemistry is off the charts, too, and Cole’s firefighter friends are interesting yet realistic secondary characters whose stories I’m looking forward to…
