Not quite as strong as the first in the series but still a blast from start to end. It was great to see some growth from Locke and I enjoyed the exploration of grief throughout.

Ezri and Drakasha were a great addition to the novel, they bounced off the main two so well.

The question “how are those two going to get out of this one?” pretty much sums it up!

Such a fun book filled with twists, humour, action, romance and gut wrenching moments are marvelously written. The entire part as pirates was so enjoyable and the heist part was great too. Locke and Jean are without a doubt one of the best duos in fantasy as their friendship is so well realized. I found the world building in this book to be great and fascinating as well. Liked it even more than the 1st book.
