this is one of the best series, because it always follows a different character. for the past books, Ash has been the stable good guy with Stryker as his enemy. this book follows stryker and shows that he is just another victim of his father's horrible curse. we cannot hate stryker after this book, once you get to this point of the series you can pretty much see every side of the war being fought, you no longer can find a bad guy who is compleatly evil, (for the most part). it is really a very bold move for a writer to make the reader understand all of the character motives and not only understand but sympthise. even though the book is one of fiction set in a world of the ancient gods, it is easy to see a theme showing that no side of any argument or war is perfect and most sides are just as justified as the other

Much as I love Sherrilyn Kenyon, this really wasn't good. It read like it had been written (and edited) in a big hurry. A real let-down after Acheron, but those following the series should read it as there are some surprising developments in one of the main characters.

I almost skipped this one but I'm glad I didn't. I thought I wouldn't care about Stryker's story and grow bored. Honestly, I still don't care but his story wasn't aweful. He is an interesting character, I didnt mind thay he's an antagonist of the books. And there was so much of Nick and finally Jared that I loved it more then I thought I would.

fast, predictable read with little character depth and no humor. the idea of using the gods in this fashion is good and most of the characters have the potential to be interesting, but alas Kenyons writing skills just isn't good enough to fullfill that particular potential. Will not be continuing this series.

Far from the best of the series but I gave it an extra star for the wiki telling me that Zephyra’s favorite pass time as: torturing mankind

I really enjoy this series. Acheron was such a good book, and honestly this book provided a ton more worldbuilding than the small ones usually do. That being said…

Why can’t everyone be friends? I love Nick, I don’t totally hate Stryker, Acheron is so dope, Apollymi is just trying to live life. I just wish they could all get along 😂 I understand that they are all morally opposed and essentially incapable of fighting for the same side, but damn do I wish they would.

The romance is very instalove. Also, they were originally together when they were 14, and they keep referencing how good the sex was at that time, major icky to me. Honestly, I didn’t particularly like these two together. I don’t feel like they inspired each other to be better at all. I don’t know. They are definitely still the bad guys, and I feel awful for Jared.

I thought this was a great book to set up the next phase of Kenyon's Dark-Hunter world.

It was nice to see a softer side of Stryker. What a twist with Nick!
