HOOOOLY SHIT ok this book was like. so many things. It was poetic, beautiful, and then visceral at points. My god. I loved the magical realism, loved the air of mystery hidden underneath most of that for the book, the love story at the center of it all which was incredibly compelling, shdwhfineofnd WAUGH

There was a lot that wasn't working for me with this book, but the willful miscommunication between the two main characters was just a little much for me, especially when it led to Sam trying to commit su*cide.

Loved this book so much! Only gave it a 4.75 instead of a 5-star rating because the beginning took me a while to get into and understand and one scene in the beginning threw me off completely. I think everyone should read this book.
