Absolute classic. A wonderful book where a mouse illustrates the concept that if you give someone something, they're going to want more. The absurd chain of events that spins off as a result of a simple gesture will entertain adults and kids alike.

I'm never sure whether kids at story time actually get these books, but they like them, and their parents and caregivers love them.

A good introduction to the idea that seemingly small/simple acts can have far reaching and unintended consequences.
Also, entertaining.
