Half way through these essays and they are beautiful, weird (as promised) and haunting but lovely. I can already tell this is a book I'll reach for again and again...and that's rare for me. LOVE.

I’ll preface this by saying I love Jenny slate!!!! But this book read like Jenny Slate wrote it while method acting as a Sim !!! And I just couldn’t get on board

This is a book of short essays. Each chapter is a standalone thought. Some chapters I found myself skimming and skipping.. while others I relished every word and found myself in tears by the end! She is a very reflective, creative and introspective writer.

This felt like it should have been more in the style of poetry or just needed a lot more polishing. Mostly disjointed stream of conscious babbling, with some very poignant bits here and there. I would give this another try as an audiobook read by Jenny Slate.
