Little Weirds

I can't believe I'm saying this because I don't like poems/essays/short stories and I can't even say that I liked every one here BUT I liked some of them so much that I kept going. Jenny's mind works in crazy wonderful ways & this book will endear you to her (or you have no soul). I wish I knew her in real life.

Repeated themes are bunnies, poop & dying. Real talk, haha.

Feels like a long poem. A little weird in a good way.

It's so sweet. It makes me want to write. It's creative. This is by no means a difficult read, and it's not profound, but it's real.

This book did such a wonderful job of diving into what a human truly feels inside. I loved reading Jenny put into words thoughts and emotions I’ve had. I also really enjoyed the ending as well. Well done!!

I like Jenny Slate. I don't remember her too much from SNL but she has been in some films that I have enjoyed. The title definitely fits the book. This was just too weird for me. There were moments that I liked and connected to, but the majority of it went over my head. It felt like she was trying too hard to be deep and lyrical. I listened to the audiobook which she reads, and I enjoyed the audiobook but this book just isn't for me.

I love Jenny Slate’s mind. This book felt like a hug and reminded me of all the little things that are little but add up to being really meaningful and important. A lot of these stories made me think Jenny and Robin Wall Kimmerer would get along great (complimentary x 1000).
