I believe this part of a growing series of books covering Canadian crime from VP Publications.

I haven't read much true crime before so I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad example. It was a quick read and it gave a straightforward accounting of what is known of the crimes of Earle Nelson in 1920s USA and Canada. There were a few attempts to give some background to life in the 20s but they seemed arbitrary and out-of-place, having little or no direct impact on the murderer or his murders.

The second half of the book is an interesting investigation into Nelson's fellow serial killers, both in North America and around the world. This part of the book would make an interesting foundation for a longer study.

I picked this up for free from Amazon.

A pretty dry laundry list of Nelson's crimes. Factual and not sensationalized which is good but it felt unfinished somehow. Especially since nearly half of the book was relegated to covering OTHER serial killers in short-form lists.
