It was okay
Got more exciting after reaching about the halfway mark and took time to get into it. I didn't care for the characters until Alex came into the picture. I liked Ingrid much more after she finally let go of her thoughts for the future and ambitions.

Hot damn!
From the very beginning, I was completely hooked by the world living within Fire Becomes Her. Especially after meeting Ingrid. She may not have connections or wealth, but the girl has one important thing: a plan. This, of course, includes being on the arm of the Senator's son, Linden. The only problem is the Senator wasn't nothing to really do with her.
Which, yeah, is a huge detail but whatever.
Eventually she grabs his attention by becoming his spy. With each secret or tidbit of information that she gathers, the more it confuses her head and heart. She's not sure who to side with during this campaign and I was basically on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Honestly, I really enjoyed the heck out of this book. If I could change one thing, I would want more chapters and pages. Mostly because I flew through this book and didn't want it to ever end. So, yeah, I'm a little sad that it's all over but very happy that I dove into this.

Love the LGBTQ representation, asexual. Bi and gay and trans all respectfully represented. The plot was interesting and grew like a movie plot and while not the most unique story plot it was engaging and enjoyable. Very relevant for our government currently, elections and the growing divide between the have and the have-nots .. So it felt very real and Relevant even though in this book the magic is the have and have not quota, it's a nice analogy and makes the book engageable

Fascinating story. The magic is super interesting and drives the world in an different and interesting way. I enjoyed the flawed main character, who figures out through her failures that there are more important things than romance and power. A coming of age story that doesn't center around a girl finding romantic love: yes, I want more of those. Keep em coming.
EAT THE RICH or burn them to the ground, ya know.

Queer found family and eat the rich vibes and just... my heart is bursting. Thor's second novel is sumptuous, a tale that rages from start to finish You don't want to miss this ragtag bunch of misfits, or Thor's gentle exploration of identity, self-discovery, and love in all its forms.
