A wonderful book that supports disability inclusion, this is a story about a young girl who loses her hearing from meningitis and how she navigates the world as a person with significant hearing loss. Cece is sweet and funny and like all kids, just wants to be accepted, but her hearing others her in a way that she believes her peers find strange. Cece’s story is not unique as it portrays an important element of the disability experience for those of us who are not disabled.

An informative memoir telling the author's story of growing up with a hearing aid after severe hearing loss due to menangitis at the age of 4. I didn't particularly care for the drawing style however it is cute and possibly relatable for younger reading. The story ends as she is still in elementary school and I would find the teenage years more relatable - but this is outside the scope of the graphic novel.
