I'm torn by this one. I really, really enjoyed Ox's voice. The writing is lovely and very refreshing for a werewolf story. But there's a lot of stuff that made me finish this not as quickly as I would've liked.
The age difference between them at the start made me wary, it felt awkward because of the implications of their future together, even if it was platonic the entire time Joe was growing up. The other part that annoyed me was the whole Joe leaving part, when I realized their separation was probably going to be useless and merely a plot point to age Joe up and give their relationship more angst etc. Felt unnecessary and lazy, honestly. I wish there'd been more plot at that point to replace that part.
Other than that, loved the characters and pack. If I decide to continue reading the series, it'll probably be some time from now. I feel alright with this ending for now.

I would probably read more if it wasn't for the fact that at 16% mark I decided to read some reviews on Goodreads that spoiled me the whole book:
SO FIRST THINGS FIRST - I don't know why, but till 16% mark I was 100% SURE, that Ox will end up with someone his age. I WAS 100% SURE IT'S GONNA BE CARTER. Don't ask me why. I just did. AND THEN I found out that JOE OF ALL PEOPLE, at the age of 10, considered Ox his mate. What. And years later, Joe (16/17) and Ox (22/23) ARE TOGETHER??? Idk, this relationship is strange and I don't feel comfortable continuing mainly because of the age gap... like, it's basically child-adult relationship? And the whole thing about touching, all the descriptions of the Bennetts always clinging to Ox and touching him all the time also made me slightly uncomfy (especially that I myself HATE physical touch and try to avoid it at all cost even with family members lol). I fully understand that they have that wolf pack mentality and act more like canids than humans, but that is ANOTHER thing that made me uncomfy. For real... Ox didn't viewed that as weird? A relationship with someone underaged that is more like an animal that human? WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD. Aaand with that I'm considering quiting reading all werewolves books. Forever :(

Also, I read it in Polish and let me tell you, the translation? Sucks. I have no idea if it is written the same way in the original, but in the translated version the structure of sentences is so weird.
Every senctence is a simple senctence.
And the repetitions?
I wrote better-constructed sentences when I was in elementary school and I understand that this form is supposed to somehow represent the main character's thought process, but seriously, I felt like I was reading the ramblings of a child who had somehow written an over 500 pages story and now I had to read it. Very tiring in the long run.
