This is the current Batman Family book. Like so much of Rebirth, it reads as competent, but not exceptional. Hopefully it will improve. http://fedpeaches.blogspot.com/2017/03/batwoman-by-any-other-name.html

When DC announced the titles for Rebirth I was most excited about this title because it had two of my favorite characters: Cassandra Cain & Stephanie Brown. And an added bonus was that this title would also feature Batwoman, so I was extremely happy when DC approved me for a review copy. It wasn't my favorite of the rebirth titles i've read before (which is Aquaman) but sadly, it wasn't as good as I hoped it to be.

It wasn't spectacular but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The storyline was interesting and entertaining. I thought the pacing was perfect and the artwork was excellent. The characters felt real, though I do have to say that Cassandra and Clayface kind of faded into the background a bit as Steph, Tim, Kate, and Bruce took most of the attention. But, I have to say that Cassandra Cain is my favorite character so I'm biased. We get a lot of Batwoman’s backstory which I honestly loved and I can't wait to see where her story arc goes in the coming volumes. I also enjoyed seeing a vulnerable Batman in this.

I really enjoyed the team aspect, especially since a featured a diverse set of characters. I tend to enjoy team ups much more because I enjoy the interaction and how they work together when on missions. This team which consists of Clayface, Red Robin, Orphan, Spoiler, Batwoman, and Batman worked well with each other and came together pretty seamlessly which was great. If I'm honest I wish there was more interaction between the members. There was a lot of interaction between Stephanie and Tim, which I expected but I really wanted more interaction with everybody; hopeful there is more in the next volume.

Overall, I enjoyed this title and can't wait to see where things go. That ending has me a little worried about the direction of the storyline, so I will definitely be continuing on with this one.

A solid first volume, fast-paced and action-packed. There were times it got emotional and frustrating, but it just made you empathize with the characters more. I liked it well enough, but I'm not sure if I'll be reading the next volume.

Fantastic characterization, especially considering the large cast

Of all the Bat's Rogue's Gallery to join him, I was not expecting Clayface (wishful thinking to believe it was to capitalize on the buddy-buddy vibes from "The Batman" WB cartoon, the one where the art style reminded me so much of Jackie Chan Adventures).

First of all: How dare you?
Second of all: HOW DARE YOU??

But DC, this Rebirth reboot has made everything so messy. I don’t know what is going on ever.

Fun read. I like the idea behind it--training the younger/less experienced Batpeoples to work together.

Why is Tim Red Robin? His costume isn't more red. It's not that different than Robin's.

The ending was a bummer. Mostly because it ties into stuff I'm trying to avoid.

I really enjoyed this book.

This is about Batman sets up a team to take down the batmen that are hurting people.

I liked the fact that Batman asked a group of his friends to help take this Batmen down.

I enjoyed this and can't wait to see how Batman and his team work together.

I was conflicted on what rating to give this one. I loved the concept of it and the art is really exceptional, but I was largely unsatisfied with the plot, which felt derivative and untrue to the previously established character of the person revealed to be the antagonist. It also continues DC's obsession with revealing yet more secret societies and black ops groups, which has become honestly pretty absurd at this point. Still, it's definitely worth picking up for the art and the chance to see the Batkids teaming up with Kate Kane.
