Another page turner in the Kingsbridge series. I love historical fiction with strong character development. Follett is a master at making me love and hate his characters! Even though his novels are long, I am always left with wanting more—not a bad thing.

The interesting thing about this read, besides the always amazing detail given to the content, is that there was not really one central character, per se. It was literally a book about a community that followed several lives and paths. I loved it. And for sure, there always has been a little of this, but this was neat in how it ''brought a little of today's ideas and values into a historical context.
