huh... well that was certainly disturbing. However i can't say that it wasn't interesting since i finished it in basically one sitting and it's based on tragic but real events. I really don't know how to feel. Thanks to my french teacher for traumatizing me once again! they never fail to do that.

Mouawad erzählt, wie die Geschwister Jeanne und Simon die Vergangenheit ihrer Mutter Nawal erkunden, die vor dem Krieg im Nahen im Nahen Osten in den sicheren Westen geflohen war. Nawals letzter Wille überträgt den Zwillingen die Aufgabe, zwei Briefe zu übermitteln: einen an ihre tot geglaubten Vater, den anderen an einen unbekannten Bruder. Widerwillig nehmen die Beiden die Reise in die Heimat ihrer Mutter auf sich. Die Suche nach den eigenen Wurzeln führt sie in die kollektive Tragödie des Krieges zurück.
Auch mit diesem Theaterstück schafft es Mouawad durch einfache Worte, tief zu treffen. Der hervorragende Roman "Anima" war äußerst brutal auf einer eher blutigen Ebene. "Verbrennungen" trifft auf einem tieferen, psychologisch-emotionalen Niveau ebenfalls sehr hart. Ein düsteres Buch mit einer guten Geschichte. Und da ich Theaterstücke normalerweise nicht sehr mag, habe ich mit diesem eine gute Wahl getroffen, denke ich.

Happy new year everyone today I am starting off the year by reviewing a play I read for my class which is scorched

I read this book for school and I did not know that there would be a trigger warning so I am letting you all know that if you do read this play please be aware of the trigger warnings. The book was just messed and let me begin by telling you all it takes place when a woman stops speaking and dies she writes letters to her children who are twins to find their long-lost brother and father and dives into the mother's background story which is a rough one. The siblings must deliver the letters to the long-lost brother and their biological father (which is where it gets messy). All I can really take away from the book was the power silence holds I rate this a 1/5 stars because I really didn't enjoy the book and I would have picked it up none the less I wish I was warned about the trigger warning before reading it. Anyways if you hope to read it please be mindful of the trigger warning I attached.

Une œuvre sur un sujet fort.
Je l'ai lu sans même connaître le résumé.
Le thème est fort, les dialogues touchants et l’œuvre laisse tellement de possibilité de scénographie et de mise à l'écran (un film existe, je ne l'ai pas encore vu) c'est incroyable.
Les dialogues semblent se répondre, deux temporalités s'emmêlent et ne font plus qu'une. C'est franchement incroyable!
