This book was not what I expected after the way Southern Comfort ended. There was so much unsaid between Beau and Savannah and I didn’t know how that would play out after Beau’s reaction to Savannah’s biggest secret.

I was surprised at how quickly Beau came to terms with everything. He learned from Jacob and Kallie’s mistakes and didn’t let more than a few hours pass before showing up at Savannah’s for answers. I loved Beau and Savannah’s relationship. They were both so in love with each other but so afraid to cross the line. They missed out on so much time together as a couple, but made up for it by being so entwined in each other’s lives.

Savannah and Beau went through a lot in this book. It seemed like every time Savannah thought there was nothing left to be taken from her, something else happened. She was so strong to put up with the hateful words and glares of the town for her son and I loved that Beau stood by her. Beau went through some of his own turmoil in this book. His eyes were opened to the level of hurt Savannah endured as well as the corruption of his father.

Beau and Savannah’s marriage was not very fake. I loved that it finally brought them to the breaking point and they were able to confess all their feelings they’d kept bottled up. The level of pining they both suffered through was pretty epic.

I loved Beau and Savannah. This book ended with a lot of healing for the community and it was great to see the villains get what was coming to them.

Savannah had Ethan 8 years ago and has kept the biggest secret of all. Beau has been in love with Savannah forever but he knows she doesn’t reciprocate since she had Ethan with their best friend Jacob. Except he just found out that Ethan is not Jacob’s, it’s his brothers. Why did they keep this from them? Savannah has always been the target of the town because of her mother and her getting pregnant by Jacob who was Kallies high school sweetheart. But now things are even worse. Beau and Savannah have a lot of battles with truths coming out and current issues. This series is so good. Beau and Savannah have been best friends forever. Beau is another fierce protector. Savannah believes what the people in town say about her. Love the southern aspects. Another small southern town with its secrets and corruption.

Beau and Savanna

Beau and savanna have been best friends, along with Jacob their whole lives. Both of them have feelings for the other but won’t admit it. Savanna got pregnant when she was 17 and the father wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. Only a few people know the truth about the dad, Beau not being one of them. Now savanna is the talk of the town and bad things keep happening to her. Beau isn’t standing for it so he brings up marriage.

Wow!!! What an amazing, and utterly captivating story. Natasha Madison really delivers with Southern Storm and totally changes my opinion on a character I wasn't all that fond off having seen her as the bad guy in Jacob and Kallie's story. But after only a couple of chapters my heart melted and I really felt for Savannah and completely understood the choices she made eight years ago. And her romance with Beau was perfectly paced and enthralling to read. But more importantly, it was raw, hard and at times ugly, and it made me cry. But boy was it worth it, as this truly was a stunning romance that I could not put down.

Would definitely recommend.

I have been waiting for this one. We began in Southern Chance with the story of Jacob and Kallie and all that transpired with Savannah. We didn't like Savannah in that book, well I didn't. We got the gist of the drama that went on with Savannah and Jacob, and of course, Jacob came out noble and generous. Well deserved attributes that he should have. Savannah did not. She wasn't evil or mean, but just not very likable. And there was Beau, he's another protector from that town and fits right in with Jacob and Kallie's brother Casey from Southern Comfort.

Now, the story that began all those years ago is finally playing out to its resolution. Beau is elected Mayor, taking over the position his father has held for many years. I'm not going to go much into about Beau's family other than they are a Tennessee Williams' play personified, and well spoilers. What we discover at the end of Southern Comfort, is the secret Jacob and Savannah have kept all these years about who is the father of Ethan is. The truth coming out ignites the smoldering feelings that Beau and Savannah have been tamping down for years. It also puts into motion forces that will test Beau and Savannah in every way.

As in the previous books, Natasha manages to interweave some suspense with the romance that only adds to the great storytelling. Southern Storm is a slow burn. By a slow burn, I mean, the slow burn has been going on between Beau and Savannah for at least a decade. By a slow burn, I mean, when they finally admit to loving one another, it is not only hotly passionate but so sweet it brings tears to your eyes. Beau Huntington is one of the most loving most romantic men I've read in a while. Natasha can write the steam, oh yes, but she can write the sweet like nobody's business. Southern Storm is no exception. This series and the storylines have been a pleasure to read get attached to the characters. We've watched Ethan grow, and now we are going to get his story in the final book. I am sure Jacob and Kallie and Beau and Savannah have been great parents, but secrets eventually come out. Now I have Southern Sunrise's release to anticipate. These books need to be read and savored in order just like a big ole' southern meal; slowly.
