this is only the second woolf book i've read but i simply adore the way she describes thoughts and feelings and emotions.... give me more i neeeeeed it
it took me a while to get into this book but then the last 100 pages flew by so idk i thought it could've been shorter? also reading it 100 years later it's interesting to see woolf's ideas about feminism back then especially represented in mary!
but yeah i liked this and there were some really really beautiful lines
(also yes i know this took me like 5 months to read i am slow)

Bailed at 40%.

Clearly this wasn't the best Woolf to start with.

The writing style is very similar to my idol & Woolf's sometime friend Katherine Mansfield. But these beautifully crafted & observed gems are better suited the "slice of life" in the short story format & that is where KM succeeds so well. I've looked up the page count on Woolf's better known works & they are much shorter novels than this, so I'm hopeful they will work for me as well.

But Woolf couldn't make me care about any of her characters at all, so I am putting this work aside.
