I seriously could not put this book down!!! Darcy's Passions is a great novel that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! You will just fall in love with Mr. Darcy even more...and ship Darcy and Elizabeth as OTP EVEN more!!!!
I really enjoyed the book at first. It was fun to see Pride and Prejudice from Darcy's point of view, and the author did a good job staying true to the book. It really explained Darcy's thoughts and reasonings well.
It was the end of the book that annoyed me. I was confused when the wedding happened and there were still many pages left in the book. It didn't seem to fit well with the rest of the book.

Spoiler
Apparently the author wanted to add love interests for Georgiana and Kitty, and lots of between the lines sex. I really started rolling my eyes with how impassioned they kept getting for each other, and I generally love romance stories.
Jeffers has a clear understanding of Jane Austen's writing style and storylines. This book felt like I was reading Jane Austen's sequel to the beloved Pride & Prejudice. The concept is very creative and attractive, but the implementation even more so. As an Austen lover myself, I was not disappointed! I highly recommend this engaging sequel that steps into Darcy's shoes and re-tells the famous Pride & Prejudice story. I recommend to any Jane Austen fan!

Reads like not terrible fanfic and the ending is far too long and contrived.
This book was enjoyable for the first 100 pages or so. But then what I thought were one-off mistakes revealed themselves as 'stylistic choices.' To begin with, the author switches points of view mid-paragraph, and sometimes even midsentence. One second I'm reading about Darcy's thoughts, and the next thing I know I'm in Elizabeth's head for no reason whatsoever. Now, if this were some postmodernist stream of consciousness narrative, that may be alright, but this book is not that.
Additionally, some of Jeffers word choices become repetitive, and at times anachronistic. Darcy actually thought he would "take it solo" when he went riding. What? That's a very modern turn of phrase, but not so en vogue for the regency.
I very much wanted to continue with this book, but the inaccuracies and stylisic foibles became to distracting from the story. If you are a reader who can look past that, then you will enjoy this book. I wish I could.

I picked this up, not realizing that I have read it before until I saw my Goodreads. Since I couldn't remember I continued to read through. I noticed not only were there lines from both the 1995 BBC miniseries and the 2005 movie but I notice a nod to the movie "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton"... I am not sure if it was a little Easter egg for those of us familiar or if it was a coincidence. However, I enjoyed it this time around so I bumped up the star rating and added to the review.
Original review:
It was ok..., but it reminded me of the BBC movie and that made it good for me..., now to watch the BBC Pride and Prejudice featuring the sexy Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy.

I have read a lot of Pride and Prejudice re-tellings and I must say that this one is going among my favorites! I love the stories that tell it through Darcy's eyes, I think they open up a whole world of possibilities for an already amazing story!
Of course it's a more modern version, but to me it didn't matter because nobody can write Pride and Prejudice better than Jane Austen and it helped with my obsession. It's a sweet dream about what happens once they marry and what does Darcy feel. However, I did feel like sometimes the ideas were a bit repetitive. In the end, it's no masterwork, but it was not as bad as some other fictions I have read about the book.
Ok I give up. I'm 88% done and I can't read more than a couple pages a night. This is obviously written by someone who isn't a writer.
The middle section was really good, and I spun through it quickly, it was nice to know what was going on in Darcy's head during the events of Pride and Prejudice. But the entire section made up in the second half of the book feels like stage direction instead of an actual book. It's just dialogue and a lot of telling.
