Marcus and Emma (bookstore clerk). Met by mistake yet Marcus quickly becomes obsessed with her?!

Well this little number took me by surprise.

I have been an Anna Zaires fan for some time now. She can write the best dark reads there is out there, but this book here shows another side of her, aside I love just as much as the darker side.

But the thing that remains the same is the fact that this author can write an alpha male that will have you weak at the knees and Marcus did just that. He's an alpha billionaire that had me squirming in my seat all the way through the book. He is in need of the perfect wife. Someone that can handle the lifestyle of the rich, and the poshness that comes along with it, so he goes and see a matchmaker, where the set him up to meet someone suited to him... Seriously, there is nothing quite like an alpha male written by Ms. Zaires.

Enter Emma, the crazy cat lady... Well to be fair, she only has three cats, but she is very much a homebody, she works at a book store and lives in Brooklyn. Her best friend sets her up on a dating website where she comes across a man with similar interested...

And this is where I stop because the story is about to damn good and you need to read and find out. This was HOT HOT HOT, I am smitten with Marcus, I loved Emma. She was a fierce woman, in my opinion, and she could bring even Marcus to his knees.

Overall, this was an excellent read, and as much as I love the authors' darker side, this was just as good and refreshing to read. So hot, with emotion, passion, sexual tension and even a little bit of humor and it just proves to me that you cannot go wrong when it comes to this authors' books.

Bring on book 2!!
6/5 Stars!

This was a great book but boy I really should have waited for book two because it does contain a cliffhanger. I had forgotten this is the foundation of Anna Zaires. But a great story and kept me up late reading. Highly recommend for any contemporary romance lover that adores a sexy alpha male and a strong heroine who stands on her own and loves felines and books.

fluff for finals week sadness. it is what it is — got it as an Immediate download on hoopla so picked it

This is my first read by Miss Zaires. I have to say, I am not disappointed. She certainly knows how to create a very possessive alpha male like Marcus. Although there is that insta lust, but the courting between Marcus and Emma really works. It is sweet stalkish way. I can not help myself falling for Marcus.

Now for Emma, I understand her pessimistic toward Marcus. But I think her pessimistic is bit too much. Yes I know the author needs something to prolong the story into duet series. I still think if this book is stand alone its still work fine. The sex is not much but it still hot and steamy. There is not much of character development. Marcus character is consistent as possessive, demanding alpha male. While Emma is damsel in distress. Through out the story, the characters are consistent.

The story is simple enough. A mistaken identity during blind date and turns into romance. The moral story is: what you need versus what you want.

Overall this is a very enjoyable story
