Total guilty pleasure read. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I also really loved the ending, which is kind of rare when I love the whole book.

Loved this light and easy read. It was a fun glimpse into a life I know nothing about. I enjoyed the bits of Mandarin and other languages interspersed throughout and beautiful development of the main characters. I got lost with the names of and relationships between all the extended family, but their voices were distinct enough that I caught the gist. Definitely will be reading the next one!
