The miscommunication trope goes off the rails in this book and i started actively hating Callum. Verril and Sorin were missing for most of the book so I legit forgot they existed at one point. I wish the character development for Jadz was better explored, but the glimpses we see beyond the warrior were refreshing. But in the end this book was heavily focused on Dex, and I absolutely love him with or without a soul.
