This book is good for men and women, I really really enjoy it sooo much, the romance is fantastic but not exclusive to lady-enjoyment, so pick it up!

One of the best books I have read in a while.
Yelena is a great protagonist, strong and clever.
The story was written well and the relationships Yelena makes with Valek, Ari, Janco and even Rand didn't feel forced. Everything seemed to flow nicely.
Definitely a 5 star novel!

The writing style reminded me a little bit of Brandon Sanderson - especially the unfolding mystery around some of the fantasy elements (especially the Criollo). I liked the setup and the first half of the book, but by the second half there were a few too many elements and I felt like the poison-tasting plotline played a much smaller role. The characters also never really came to life - they all still felt like characters in a story by the end. Overall though, a fun and quick fantasy read.

I think this is my third read and I definitely enjoyed the plot more than the romance. I didn’t really feel like Valek and Yelana were that developed.

Wow, what an amazing book. From the very first chapter, I was hooked and already had many questions.
Maybe it wasn't the most complex book, but still, the world building and character development made it so addictive.
Our FMC I adored for stubbornness and determination. Even if she didn't have an easy start in her life, she is incredibly loyal.
This book brought in me so many emotions.
The banter between the characters made me laugh on so many occasions, but also I raged thanks to not so nice ones.
Betrayal, assassinations , and elements of magic - everything in one book.
I still have so many questions, and that's why even without thinking, it's time to jump into book 2 from the series.
