I CANT EVEN WITH THIS BOOK. LITERALLY SO FREAKING GOOD. I did NOT expect this book to be that good. Which might be why I rated it so high but anyways. Like I literally just saw it at the library and was like oo I’ve heard of that and picked it up then read it with medium expectations and omg when I tell you this book was amazing…. It’s literally so good. People said it was green mythology mixed with hunger games and I see where they’re coming from, like the hunt is LIKE hunger games but don’t read this expecting them to be that similar. OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK SM. It’s a thick book and I was scared I’d be bored for some, or there’d be a lot of world building BUT NO. SO GOOD I WAS ENGAGED THE WHOLE TIME. You can just tell this book was thought out so well and the author just did an absolutely amazing job writing this I can see how much work was put into it. The backstories, the plot twists, the betrayal, the friendships, the thrill. Literally the end felt like a movie scene it was so real and so intense and SO SO GOOD. I feel like I know these characters so well and everything in this book is literally so perfect.

4.5 stars.

Dark, fast paced and action packed!

Greek mythology set in the modern world with fantastic storytelling and truly moving Greek tragedy interwoven.

Easy to read and hard to put down this book grips you from start to finish, could easily see this being made into a movie.

Fans of mythology retelling's, strong female characters, dark twists and romantic tension will love this book.

I was unsure how I felt about this until about halfway. It is a great take on the ancient Gods and myths. I liked the way it intertwined our reality with the legends. It wasn't until about halfway through that I felt like the twists and intrigue picked up enough for me to get really into it.

Lore escaped a world where the Gods aren't legends. The Agon comes every 7 years. Kill a God, take their power. Her family was killed in that world of constant fighting for power and finding death. She has been trying to avoid it. Now a God comes to her for help and she has to decide if she wants to avenge her family.

There are so many secrets and a lot of twists. The twists in the latter half of the book are what saved it for me. I got really into it with the brutal combat, the deadly encounters,  intense secrets, and major twists. I loved how much the twists changed the story. One secret chabges everything. A really good take on mythology for me.

The only thing I would’ve preferred is if the characters had been aged up slightly (putting the MC at 20 or 21 instead of 17). Loved it otherwise.
