This second book in the Reborn series was definitely not as exciting as the first. Honestly, it felt like a filler chapter, only it was the WHOLE book. Don't get me wrong, I do love Maya and her delicious set of men around her. But there was only one really exciting scene (not including steamy scenes with her men) that seemed important to the plot. I've giving it a 3/5 because while I love the series itself, this book just wasn't on par with the first.

Something I should have mentioned is this series has been a slow to medium burn. Which I think perfectly suits Maya's storyline. I'm throughly enjoying her character, and her guys. Her friend Jordan had an interesting meet and I hope there is more of that to come.

The moment Maya was taught about shifters, specifically dragons and the Phoenix in the Dreki realm, it was pretty easy to tell where the story was going. That's not to say that the book isn't still good. Maya is getting to know her mates better, slowly marking each one and finding her place with them.

At one point, you could relate and feel her emotions when she was getting mad. You understood where she was coming from and couldn't help but be mad for her. It's great when you can really connect with the characters like that!

Things are starting to pick up a bit. You know stuff is getting set up so that things will go down shortly after!

Soaring in Flames Review

After reading this book, I fell even more in love with Maya and her men. I seriously loved this book so much. I have my suspicions that Maya is about to have her world rocked if she is the daughter of who I'm thinking. And of course I can not wait for Father Malcolm and Lorn to get what's coming to them.

Also, M. Sinclair, I would love more of Jordan! Maybe her own series?
