“…this tongue-in-cheek romp is for readers who like their Christmas spirit irreverent rather than sentimental.”
Well, I guess I’m firmly in the latter category, because I absolutely hated this.
Bootlegging? Gunfire? Fistfights? In a middle grade book? Not to mention a character loses an eye and the kids kill a walrus with only a spear.

The premise was interesting, but after giving it a fair shot (50+ pages/half dozen chapters), I had zero desire to continue, nor was I vested in the the characters. Life's too short (and my bedside table is too crowded) to FORCE myself through a book...

This was so fun, and so cute! It's a middle grade novel that I highly recommend reading during the holiday season!
