I fucking love myself a book set in the Caribbean, even more if it's a historical romance by Beverly Jenkins!!!!!! This was so great!!!! The third act I was stressed!!!!

Beverly’s brain is so remarkable, wow. I love how interconnected her books are, it’s SO cool. Clare and Dominic are such strong characters, and I adored them as a couple.  I especially loved the setting of this, most of it is set in the Caribbean! I was hoping for some more tension between our main couple, but other than it being a bit instalovey for my liking, I truly enjoyed this.

This one felt a little more wish-fulfillment than other Jenkins books, but still super enjoyable and somehow taught me more history than I knew I wanted to learn. It's a prequel in the LeVeq Family series, telling the story of the family patriarch and the feisty bride he rescued from slavery.

Dominic Le Veq is the swooniest.

I had fun with this one. I only wish there had been a little more tension between Dominic and Claire. They got too comfy, too fast.

Love them, love Beverly Jenkins, I am indeed obsessed with these books, making a flow chart of how the characters connect in different books and everything. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I listened to this on Everand and I loved it. Beverly Jenkin's amazing writing paired with Kim Stauton's masterful narration does it for me every time!
